Free Friday: George Washington Birthplace National Monument

The United States’ first President was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia in February 22, 1732. He lived there until he was 3 years old.   

Later, he came back as a teenager. The National Park Service preserves George Washington’s Birthplace and visitors may visit for FREE. They may enjoy a tour of the house.   

   
Those who enjoy walking may roam the grounds.   

 There are exhibits depicting life as it was at George Washington’s time.   

    
 There is of course, a replica of the Washington Monument. It’s worth a stop when one is in the area.
