An Almost Collapsed Ruin

This week’s Photo Challenge from The Daily Post is Weight(less). Ben Huberman challenges participants to post a photo of something marked by its weight. He mentions as example, “a collapsed ruin” which reminded me of a visit to Cumberland Island in Georgia back in 2014 where I saw a cottage that seems to be slowly collapsing.

I was filled with curiosity. Who lived there? Why did they leave? Where are they now? What is the fate of this red cottage that’s slowly succumbing to its weight? Now, I’m wondering is it still standing?

The weight of time and the elements can certainly take its toll on anything, like an old red cottage in an island.
