Most Beautiful US State Capitol ~ Smithsonian

It is not surprising that the Smithsonian dubbed Pennsylvania’s State Capitol as The Most Beautiful among the State Capitols in the United States. As soon as visitors step inside, they are greeted with intricate moldings and gold painted art on ceilings and walls.

President Theodore Roosevelt on his visit said, “This is the handsomest building I ever saw!”

Hubby and I have visited at least 25 State Capitols so far. Pennsylvania’s State Capitol in Harrisburg is definitely the most elaborately decorated.

My pictures do not give the Capitol any justice, but I hope they give a glimpse of its beauty.
