Food Network viewers would be familiar with Guy Fieri, Food Network Star winner, and host of Guy’s Big Bites, and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Fieri brought his brand of food to the tourist area of the Poconos in Pennsylvania.
One can sign up to be a member of Guy Fieri’s Club for free and get monthly deals from his restaurant, Guy Fieri’s Mt. Pocono Kitchen. I received an email for this deal which hubby and I thought was pretty good.
For the shareables, we ordered nachos. The appetizer is described as topped with black beans, ground beef, cheddar, Cotija, slivered red onions + jalapeño.
Mostly, the plate was as described. But do you see ground beef on the topping? Neither did I. There was a tablespoon or two under all that topping. The nachos were not crispy as well. I was disappointed.
For the entrees, I picked the Championship Pork which is pulled pork served with corn bread and coleslaw. I loved the presentation. The dish was served on a cast iron skillet on top of what looks like a wooden cutting board. Rustic.
The coleslaw was just the way I liked it, tangy with a hint of sweetness. The pulled pork was okay. I would have loved it, if it were cooked to “melt in your mouth”. The corn bread was good. It wasn’t sweet, just right.
Hubby ordered the Blue Ribbon Chicken. It was served on a wooden cutting board sans cast iron skillet. But still, I loved the presentation. He finished his meal without complaint. I guess, he liked what he ordered!
This deal at Guy Fieri’s Mt. Pocono Kitchen was just okay. The meal did not really impress me that much. I would still go back to try out the burgers. I think I received an email for a burger deal. Maybe hubby and I will visit again for that.
For this meal, I’m rating the restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.
Maybe, the burgers will impress. We’ll see.
