My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I have read so much about Palawan as the place to visit in the Philippines. Travel and Leisure Magazine gave it the title Number 1 World’s Best Island in 2013. It is Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice for the same title in 2014. We absolutely wanted to go and bring with us family members. It’s more fun!

The challenge was to get a tour package rate that won’t break our wallet. In the Philippines, travel agencies offer tour packages and it is the way to go.

While researching online, I considered a few budget friendly packages from different hotels. MGM Prime Suites was one of them. I sent email to inquire about the tours. MGM replied promptly. I checked out their Facebook Page which features photos of their guests and read the reviews. The reviews are all favorable. So, I booked a tour package for 4 days and 3 nights with tours for a group of 10.

We do not regret booking with MGM. It extends a sample of good Filipino hospitality. The staff gave us wonderful caring and friendly service.
MGM is a budget friendly place that provides guests with their basic needs for a comfortable sleep and stay – a soft bed, air conditioned room, television, hot and cold shower, breakfast, and free wifi.

If one expects a luxurious stay, Palawan has 5-star places. If one is looking for a clean and comfortable base in Puerto Princesa, MGM is a good choice.

Breakfast at MGM is a set plate of typical breakfast that Filipinos usually have. So, expect rice and egg with a Filipino breakfast dish. Guests who prefer not to have rice may request for bread.

MGM arranges chosen tours with various agencies. All guests have to do is show up at the lobby at pick up time and off you go.

We enjoyed our Palawan trip. The island offers activities for adventurers and the more laid back visitors. My family would love to go back someday.
