Series: Iceland’s Golden Circle

Tour Stop 1: Fridheimar Greenhouse

The Golden Circle is a popular tourist route in Iceland as natural attractions like Geysir, Gulfoss, and Thingvellir are on this route. These were the only places I expected to see on our The Golden Circle and Fontana Wellness tour. But our first stop was Fridheimar Greenhouse where visitors learned how they grow tomatoes in Iceland.
On this stop, the owner gave a short talk on the whole process of growing tomatoes in a greenhouse.

The tomatoes looked shiny and healthy. Tomato lovers were surely tempted to take a bite of the lush flesh.

I’m not much of a tomato soup person, but surrounded by inviting tomatoes and the scent of freshly baked bread and warm tomato soup tickling my taste buds, I simply had to have some of Fridheimar’s famous tomato soup.

I can honestly say it’s the best tomato soup I’ve ever had. 😋
It was an interesting stop in the Golden Circle. With a belly full of delicious tomato soup and freshly baked bread, I was ready for stop number 2, Geysir.
