Throwback: Topkapi Palace, Istanbul

Topkapi Palace is one of Istanbul’s most visited tourist attractions. Building started in 1460 and completed in 1478. It served as the administrative, educational, and art center of the empire led by Mehmed the Conqueror.

The palace today is a museum featuring exhibits that reflect the power and wealth of the Ottoman Dynasty.
Photography of exhibits are not allowed. The walls and ceilings successfully show how wealthy the Empire was.
