The Little Known Signer Of The Declaration Of Independence

Thomas Stone. Have you heard of him? I have not. The National Park Ranger assured me, I was not alone.

The man in the portrait on the right, above the fire place is Thomas Stone. He was shy and quiet, but a strong believer of independence. His life was dedicated to taking care of his large extended family and fighting for freedom.

To remember him, the National Park Service is preserving and working to keep his legacy alive for future generations at the Thomas Stone National Historic Site in Port Tobacco, Maryland.
