Bangka Of The Philippines

The bangka is a widely used means of water transportation in the Philippines.

In English, it is called the outrigger canoe. Lateral support floats known as outriggers are fastened to a side or both sides of the canoe’s main hull.

The Philippine bangka are often fitted with petrol engines. They are used as fishing boats and visitors get to experience what it is like to ride a bangka when island hopping in closely clustered small islands.

I love bangka rides. It is one of the most fun experiences one could have when in the Philippines.
Very recently, a Category 4 typhoon hit the Philippine Islands. The death toll is high and the devastation is severe. I’m praying for you, Philippines.
